Security Team Training
At the heart of Refuge Tactical is the desire to better prepare those who are willing to risk their life to ensure the safety of others. That protector mindset and willingness to serve is not stronger anywhere in the civilian world than with those who are part of a dedicated church security program. While those serving have the mindset and heart for the job, many lack the proper training to successfully accomplish the job. “Success”, as it relates to the outcome of a potentially life threatening incident of this nature is measured by the following questions:
1) Was the threat observed, confined, and stopped before it was allowed to take action?
2) Was any innocent person injured during the incident?
3) Were any security team members or first responders injured during the incident?
Our security team training is all designed to provide your team with the tools to succeed, while simultaneously limiting liability for the church. All training is developed around the church environment and enforces the goal of PREVENTION. Your team should train to respond to an active threat, but the goal should always be to stop a potential threat before it becomes active. Training courses can be developed to specifically meet the needs of your team based on their current training and skill level. The primary topics available include:
Understanding Use of Force Law
Recognizing Potential Threats through non-verbal indicators, pre-attack behaviors, and observation of concealed weapons
Deescalation Tactics
Mindset Preparedness
Medical Training to provide prehospital care to traumatic injuries
Firearm Training that is relative to the church environment and ranging from basic to advanced based on your needs
Scenario Based/Stress Inoculation Training replicating potential incidents that could occur at your church
Critical Incident Response Planning and Documentation
While this training was designed with the church security team in mind, it is also applicable to businesses and schools with an active or developing security program.
